Pre-Requisites
- Ability to sit and focus for a sustained period of time
- Basic hand-eye coordination
- Attention to detail
- Good hand and finger skills
- Basic math skills
Scheduling
- Individual classes are 60 minutes and can be scheduled anytime from Saturday to Thursday, between 9 am and 9 pm Pacific Time, based on availability.
- Group classes have a set schedule.

Learning Target
1. Introduction to Crochet
- Introduction to the materials needed for crochet, including yarn, crochet hook, and scissors
- Demonstration of how to hold the crochet hook and yarn
- Explanation of the different crochet terms and abbreviations used in the course
2. Foundation Chain
- Demonstration of how to create a foundation chain, including the slip knot and chain stitch
- Practice creating a foundation chain of various lengths
3. Single Crochet Stitch
- Demonstration of how to work the single crochet stitch, including inserting the hook, yarn over, and pulling up a loop
- Practice working single crochet stitches into a foundation chain
- Introduction to working in rows and turning the work
4. Half Double Crochet Stitch
- Demonstration of how to work the half double crochet stitch, including yarn over and pulling up a loop through the stitch
- Practice working half double crochet stitches into a foundation chain or a row of single crochet stitches
5. Double Crochet Stitch
- Demonstration of how to work the double crochet stitch, including yarn over and pulling up a loop through the stitch
- Practice working double crochet stitches into a foundation chain or a row of single crochet or half double crochet stitches
6. Increasing Stitches
- Introduction to increasing stitches, including how to work two stitches in the same stitch and how to work multiple stitches in the same stitch
- Practice increasing stitches in various crochet projects
7. Changing Colors
- Introduction to changing colors in crochet, including how to carry the yarn and how to create a color change
- Practice changing colors in various crochet projects
8. Shaping Projects
- Introduction to shaping crochet projects, including how to work decreases and increases to create shapes
- Practice shaping projects by working decreases and increases in various crochet projects
9. Decreasing Stitches
- Introduction to decreasing stitches, including how to work two stitches together and how to skip stitches
- Practice decreasing stitches in various crochet projects
10. Stuffed Toys and Characters
- Introduction to making stuffed toys and characters in crochet, including tips for working with stuffing and attaching pieces together
- Practice making a stuffed toy or character using a crochet pattern or by creating your own design
11. Different Stitches
- Introduction to other crochet stitches, including the treble crochet, slip stitch, and more
- Practice working various crochet stitches in a project or sampler
